We traveled that route many times when we lived in Seattle region…of course always in a climate controlled car! Brings back wonderful memories. We even stayed at Mazama Inn once ourselves. so happy for you that you conquered the Cascades. Now we’re just hoping you don’t bake across the mid-section of the US. Enjoy!

Annette – Thanks for the comments. Breakfast and dinner at the Mazama Inn were great and the surrounding beautiful. I am prepared for the cold and rain of the Cascades and the heat of the Midwest – thankfully our tour operator did not have a weight limit on gear I would bring. Best to Jerry.
